PTMKB provides streamlined access to a comprehensive Post-Translational Modification database, tools, and algorithms to support research and innovation in drug discovery, disease understanding, and biotechnology.
Background
We catalogue post-translational data on over 200,000 unique proteins and 70 different types of PTMs. Along with that, we provide a per-residue propensity scoring metric that can be served through a RESTful API to allow for its seamless integration into protein search and identification workflows. This is provided through integration and synergy of various PTM and protein databases such as dbPTM, UniProt, and RCSB PDB Data Bank, amongst others. The resulting datasets along with PTM frequency tables are publicly available for download.
